So, as a Canadian I have the plight of not being able to redeem alot of codes that are available for the US. THis is for all formats.
Luckily, there is a trick for some UVs, however, for some I still can't. Right now I have the code for Adventure Time Season 2, and I REALLY want to redeem this, but cannot as it only works in the states. I was wondering what tricks Canadians have found work for redeeming codes that are supposed to be only for the states? Thanks |

I can tell you how I redeem UK UV codes in the US, probably works the same way in redeeming US UV codes in Canada.
Use firefox and the addon anonymox set the region in anonymox to the UV code is from. Go into flixster or the site that the code redeems from and it should redeem. Once it has been redeemed you should then be able to access the movie in flixster without having to change the region. |

You need to set up a cineplex account and link your UV to it. Only works on wifi. |

I fount what seems like the easiest way to redeem us UV codes, the vudu website. Doesn't seem to deny me based on my location. I just made a vudu account and voila, redeem any US UV code through their site and it's added to my UV account and accessible in Canada.

I was mostly referring to home viewing on a TV. I can only find the cinemanow app on ps3 and that system is brutal. No organization and it runs SLOW!

I ran into an issue with a foreign UV code not working on flixster recently, it was an aussie code, and i've redeemed those on flixster in the past with success and had them enter the UV locker successfully - whether they port to your service of choice or not depends on the title and the studio.
now in my case, what i needed to do for a work-around for the flixster code issue, i created an account on another uv service in australia, then linked that new service to my UV locker. redeemed the code on that service instead and it uploaded to my uv locker and ported. so keep in mind, if you are having a flixster redemption issue, you can always try link another UV service to your UV locker from the UV codes assigned country, you just need to use a VPN. Could I get some advice for a novice attempting to do this?
Do I need to create a new Flixster account? I did that and tried connecting it to my UV account but it keeps getting an error (I'm guessing because my UV is a US account?) Do I need new accounts for both which means I would need two separate UV accounts? edit: N/M. It did work fine when I was under my original Flixster account. The code expired on 02/17 and I guess in the UK when something expires it really expires. I was trying to redeem Rurouni Kenshin. The first one expired but two and three worked. If only I had tried this before ![]() It had this message "We're sorry, we were not able to fulfill your redemption request because a product was not found for this project. Please contact support for assistance." I opened a support ticket but I'm not expecting much Last edited by Petey Parker; 03-30-2016 at 02:42 AM. |

Also not all UV providers are the same about expired codes, expired codes seem to redeem longer on flixster than other services. I've even seen one code that wouldnt work until you used the redeem option on uvvu. So, try to enter the code at all the UV providers and services you have available in your redemption country. If that fails, get in touch with the studio, unless its sony, and cross your fingers. |

I heard back from someone at Flickster that they are looking in to it so if I don't have any success I'll try and see if it works on another provider.
Both Kenshin 2 and 3 don't seem to have moved over to my UV account which I guess isn't surprising since neither film is available in the US. At least I can watch them on the Flixster app but I would have liked to be able to get them in to Vudu. |

one way you can double check USA UV eligibility on vudu, search for the title's name on vudu. then click the title and read the description lines. if you dont see the UV symbol listed in the studio description, it's not UV enabled in the USA. for example: snowpierecer is UV enabled for most of the world, just not in the usa. you can watch snowpiercer via UV streaming providers anyplace other than the usa. cinema now, mgo, vudu all wont show you the UV title in your library. however, you can still watch the UV snowpiercer on flixster in the usa. or on just about any other UV service in the world. I'll check again later tonight, I know it can take some time to show up. I redeemed a US copy of The Dark Knight Rises last night as well and it didn't show up for over an hour so they just might not have showed up yet.
I did look for the Kenshin movies on Vudu last night though and it didn't even return a search result. Thanks for all your help with my questions. |

Also sometimes vudu's search tag is rather specific. like if you search for the "the dark" you won't see "the dark knight." although if you search for "dark" or "knight" then "the dark knight" will show up in your search. this also varies by title and can be a little frustrating. |

if they are in your uv locker, do a manual refresh on your vudu account (under your name tab, ultraviolet tab, unlink library, wait a few seconds, relink your vudu account to uvvu, go back to main vudu page, hit browser refresh while visiting your myvudu tab). if the films still arent there, they are more than likely an ALiD mismatch and won't port to vudu.
