So all the Indiana Jones movies are coming out in Digital HD layer this year. Any idea if the blurays will include a VUDU copy? Is this a Disney release? New transfers?

This article says digital release is available on 11/19 and Blu-ray hits on 12/17. It was available for purchase on vudu at one time I think, but it was priced at something insane that ended up costing as much or more to buy the digital version on vudu as it was to buy the complete Blu-ray box set. It's not on vudu any longer, so wonder if iTunes is going to be the only option to buy it digitally as well as the only thing offered with the code?

I find it interesting that the collection was removed from vudu about a month ago and now this. Also, from what I have seen Digital HD refers to vudu, Cinemanow but iTunes is usually referred to as iTunes. I hope that vudu is included in this release.
I do think vudu will be included in this digital release but it won't be UV, Paramount is UV but I think this is like the Marvel movies being distributed by Paramount but still Disney owned so no UV. BUT that would be nice if the were UV! Last edited by curtishd; 10-18-2013 at 05:48 AM. |

Paramount keeps the Indiana Jones films already made, just because Disney bought Lucas does mean Disney gets everything Lucas. Same for Star Wars: A New Hope, that will always remain at Fox Second... No. You are not getting Vudu with these at all. Press release states iTunes only which is digital HD 720p or 1080p. Third... Paramount does not own the Marvel movies, they were a distribution partner only. Disney now owns the Marvel films but because of distribution agreements, Paramount's logos will still remain. Just like the Orion Pictures films still keep the Orion logo and leader despite being owned by MGM. |

I hope so. I also hope VUDU fixes Raiders by then. They had a cropped 1.78:1 transfer before. I think Temple of Doom may have had the same problem too.

I purchased the collection on Vudu a while back and when I click on the preorder page for an individual movie, it says I own it. I'm not sure if this is any indication of there being better encodes, but at least if they are different the people who bought them before should see the upgrades as well.

The iTunes is all that is included iwht hits set. Its made clear in the press release that they are available on different days. Its a different way to allow their media to be sold. By this way this totally pisses me off as the discs are the same ones included in the Blu Ray Collection from earlier in the year. It's just a ploy for prople to buy the iTunes portion of the films. |

I was afraid it was an iTunes only code...darn it! At least vudu has the bundle for 4 on sale right now for roughly $11 each. Not a terrible price, but you do have to take that terrible 4th movie in the installment (crystal skull) to get the bundle price - lol!
