Flushed Away/Chicken Run/Wallace & Gromit - May 13, 2014

Ok, I don't know if The Digital Bits is trippin, but here you go:

Meanwhile, Paramount will release a Crocodile Dundee/Crocodile Dundee II double feature, a Flushed Away/Chicken Run/Wallace & Gromit triple feature, a Road to El Dorado/Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas/Joseph: King of Dreams triple feature and BD singles of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and The Godfather, Part III, all on 5/13. Following on 5/20 are DVD versions of Arthur Hailey’s The Moneychangers, Happy Days: The Fifth Season and The Revengers.

Finally chicken run and flushed away gets released on blu! Is that Wallace and gromit the cursed of the were rabbit animated movie that came out back in 2005??

I would assume so, since all of the shorts are already on Blu-ray. Plus, I don't think Paramount/Dreamworks had any involvement with the shorts, which would leave only Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

And I'm glad to see them finally make it to Blu as well. I'd rather have seen them each get their own releases, but I'll take what I can get.

I guess it'll be cheaper this way, at least.

Cause I don't remember the animated movie ever being released on blu until now. I grew up watching that movie when I was in middle school. Brings back memories.

None of them have been released to Blu-Ray before. Hopefully if they're debuting in a triple feature they still include the DVD extras for all three.

Warner/BBC owns the shorts, and they're already out. FREQUENTLY.

Here, we're just getting the entire short, tragic romance between Dreamworks and Aardman:
Chicken Run, which proved that audiences rather wanted W&G, Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which didn't hitch the money cart to the horse as much as Katzenberg hoped it would and ended the romance overnight, and Flushed Away, which didn't deliver on "making" Aardman do a "Dreamworks movie" in CGI to save time.

Isn't there going to be another movie based on Exodus coming out at the end of this year? They might use that to try and promote the BD release of The Prince of Egypt. Or they might wait until that film is released to BD, which should be around Passover/Easter 2015, as you stated.

I also think they might just be saving their biggest pre-Shrek films for last, as Antz has no set release date either.

I think the only remaining DreamWorks Animation films to not hit Blu-ray yet are:

The Prince of Egypt
Shark Tale
Over The Hedge

Good point. Ridley Scott's Exodus is a December Christmas-timed theatrical release.

Pretty annoyed we won't be getting the animated films as separate releases. I hate multiple-feature packs when the film's are not sequentially related.

Amazon.ca has this listed...as a DVD. They've been wrong in the past of course, but it does have a very low MSRP too.
