Default What movies have you purchased more than once on blu??

I guess it's unavoidable after awhile but during the course of collecting 400 blus, I have had to buy a movie or two more than once. Here are mine. What movies did you buy multiple times and why......

1) Bank Job (US copy became corrupt and no longer played. Took the opportunity to get the UK version.)

2) Mr and Mrs Smith (bought the unrated French blu to accompany my US disc)

3) Social Network (call me shallow but I couldn't handle the US packaging.. I got the UK version to replace it)

4) Thief (I never thought I'd ditch a Criterion but that's what I did for the UK Limited Edition. Arrow is giving Criterion a run for its money)

5) Star Trek Compendium (hate the packaging tho')

6) Bound (went French first then went UK with it..another Arrow purchase)

A few other movies (Michael Clayton, State of Play, Collateral, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Kingdom) were repurchased in multi-movie sets. Goodfellas will be next.....

Hang em high. Loved the Walmart cover. Love the movie.

Patton, Predator, and The Road Warrior. I'll eventually get the remastered Goodfellas, along with any other titles WB decides to re-release with lossless audio, when I can get them for a halfway decent price.

A mod will merge it into the main thread.

1) Ghostbusters Mastered in 4K replacing the original
2) The Terminator remaster edition replacing the original
3) Robocop remastered replacing the original
4) The Superman Motion Picture Anthology replacing the original Superman, Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut, and Superman Returns blu-rays.

I'm considering replacing my Ghost in the Shell 2.0 Blu-Ray with the more recent remaster of the original version.

Finally, a couple of titles I would LIKE to buy again should they make better versions are The Dark Knight and Terminator 2.

Waaaaay too many.

Usually because of packaging and international versions being better. I think Ive actually quadruple-dipped on one or two.

Fear and Loathing off the top of my head.

Bought the first German release - 25gb disc. Then I bought the UK release - 50gb disc. Just bought the second German release - 50gb disc (AVC transfer). Doh!

I got The Edge of Tomorrow twice by accident because I ordered the steelbook and forgot to cancel my amazon preorder for the regular version. I also got two copies of Harold and Maude by accident.

So far just Terminator (old US disc for remaster) and Re-Animator (US disc for German mediabook), but Escape from New York has been pre-ordered and will be the next, followed by Goodfellas I'm sure.
Still, doing much better than I did with dvd!

I have multiple blu-rays of:
Zombie Flesh Eaters - upgraded to the better transfer on the Arrow but I was loath to part with the extras on the BU release
US4: Day of Reckoning - R-rated US edition with commentary and excellent making-of merged with the unrated but relatively barebones UK blu (and believe me, in this movie the difference in the 2 versions is HUGE).
Demons - Got Arrow's Demons 1+2 SB, later snagged the barebones Demons amaray from Synapse for their much better color-corrected transfer.

Robocop - original then got the enhanced 4k version
Escape from NY - original then ordered the collectors re-release
Nymphomania - original then literally a day later the directors version was announced

And I have some duplicates from basically forgetting I already owned them - more than one but the only one I can think of is Martyrs.

Only a few that I recall.

Fright Night - sold signed original for $200+, bought new release for $29.99.
Journey to Center of the Earth. - also sold for upgrade.
Fargo for remaster.
Total Recall for remaster.
Terminator for remaster
Full Metal Jacket upgraded to digibook.
Planet of the Apes Collection (to get rid of bulky box and switch to slim case)
Spaceballs for no reason at all.

Probably a few others.

The Breakfast Club - wanted the new transfer.
The Departed - got it the second time because it was included in one of those 3 packs.

Not too many as I only re-purchase when there is an improvement in PQ and studios haven't done a ton of PQ upgrade re-releases - it's usually packaging, cover art, features, or digital downloads instead.

I have upgraded the following titles: Terminator, Total Recall, The Breakfast Club, Superman anthology, Patton, Spider-Man 1 & 2, Men in Black, Moneyball...and will be with upcoming Goodfellas.

I should also add Skynet T2 as I thought I was upgrading from the original disc, but that did not end up being the case given the DNR issue with the new disc, but at least the audio was an improvement.

Had to repurchase Iron Man 2 and Captain America after my last breakup because my ex liked them and retained custody of the originals

Just films that come in a box set a few years after being released as a single disc (mostly from Warner Bros. and Fox)
