God! Why why why such cruelty?

All I ask for is a basic black and wide full screen 35mm.

I may have to literally skip it. Not sure if technicolor portions of it alone is worth the cropped picture, fake colors buy.

I will definitely buy this! See as much as I would love to get my hands on the original black n white full screen. Indian home video viewers would find the coloured wide screen version worth their buck (generally speaking) and at this point it's all about increasing Blu ray sales

Really saddened to hear that this abomination will be released instead of the original. I only hope they at least stick to the original aspect ratio, although I highly doubt it, and it's the complete version not the edited version.

Not sure about the actual restoration. But the colorized version I saw in the theaters was certainly cropped.

^ The DVD was cropped just at 1.50, which is closer to the original aspect ratio of 1.375. Some theatrical screenings presented the movie at 1.78, leading a lot of people to think that the colorized version was formatted to that aspect ratio. However, the colorized version of Naya Daur was reportedly presented at 1.78 in screenings as well as on DVD.

They could have at least included the B&W version to make it super set. But that is Shemaroo or you. For me to hear all the songs on Full HD audio is going to be great.

The songs weren't butchered like the Video, at least Naushad was still there to supervise the re-engineering.

Just be happy DOLBY ATMOS or DTS:X was not available in 2004. Otherwise, the butchering job would've been picture perfect.
