A Warner Bros film? Is that right,or is this somehow controlled by Fox?

It would be HUGE of Twilight Time started getting into the Warner catalog (I know there was another release that had special circumstances). What is the story with this one?

Aren't they all? Or is this more limited than usual?

This film is a favorite of mine -- I sure hope they can include a commentary or other features with it!

Saw a preview of the HD transfer when TCM showed it a month or two ago. Halfway through watching, I thought, "Is this on Blu-ray? I want this." Looked it up on Blu-ray.com and found out it's coming from TT. I stopped watching to wait for the Blu-ray.

The transfer is gorgeous. The best I've ever seen the movie look.

I thought the PQ was awesome. All the way through I felt as if it might as easily be 4K. TT outdid themselves on this release. I was impressed.

One of my all time favorite movies. I just ordered it from Twilight Time for $19.95. Hopefully the order and delivery will go smoothly. I read the review that was noted several posts up an learned that Miiko Taka was actually Japanese-American. I never knew this and it had never occurred to me.

The Blu-ray was delivered today (3 day delivery). The transfer is very impressive considering how old the film is. There is some grain and noise but colors are well saturated and overall the image is sharp (although there may be a touch of edge sharpening). Included is a nice booklet detailing the story line with information about the production, the actors and direction. All in all it's a very worthwhile purchase.

Watching this now. Really beautiful transfer and I'm enjoying the film as well. Anyone on the fence should consider picking this up.

Watching it on Watch TCM now ... never seen, quite a revelation.

Unfortunately the isolated score is in DTS 2.0 mono. Twilight Time confirmed on another site that Warner holds the stereo tracks for Waxman's score, but didn't let TT have them for that extra. :P to you, Warner.

Thanks for answering the question I had about the audio. Originally 4-track discrete stereo mag; Warner, I want that track!

I first watched this film (at least part of it) on an old 20th Century Fox LaserDisc, which I still have. It was letterboxed and was released on two discs, three sides (all CLV as I recall). Side 1 was fine, but when I flipped it over to watch side 2 (which was "properly" labeled as side 2), it was side 1. . . again.

I tend to run hot and cold on Brando’s performances but for some reason I really like him in this. As far as the disc, Twilight Time did a great job on this one. The transfer is beautiful. Definitely worth picking up.

1 of many undeserved nominations Brando received simply for showing up.
