Default Must own Blu-rays?

I'm a bit of a noob to Blu-Rays and need some advice on the must haves.

I only have Casino Royale and Black Hawk Down which I got with my PS3 and I'm considering buying The Dark Knight for £14.

MUST own:

Nothing.
You'll be just as healthy (and a lot richer) without any.

RECOMMENDED:

To somebody just starting a collection (assuming you can get the right prices without too much effort and/or enjoy metaphorically sodomised by the studios) I would recommend...

- Planet Earth, the Blue Planet or Galapagos for Demo Material

- Chronos; the transfer actually got a little criticism, but this is probably my most watched Blu-Ray (actually, HDDVD) short, stunning and exhilirating.

- Terminator 2; it's a popular movie, and the newer version shows that even 'blockbuster' films are sometimes SUPPOSED to have grain, and even obvious blue-screen effects.

- The Matrix and Order of the Phoenix. Important safety measure against sounding like a fool by always whining "HDDVD encodes look terrible!"

- The Deer Hunter, Bullit and Close Encounters; to educate new viewers further on the subject of grain.

- Paprika; to showcase some 1080p animation. (Also happens to be a darn good film) & TMNT for some incredible 1080p CGI.

- 2001 or Grand Prix, to show how incredible SOME older films will look in 1080p

- Batman Begins, to illustrate the strength of Lossless Audio. (And the earlier mentioned The Matrix, to illustrate that sometimes there really is absolutely no difference)

HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION: "Gangs of New York" to make it abundantly clear to viewers that DNR & Edge Enhancement is definitely NOT a good thing.

Thanks for all the replies, think I'm going to order Batman in the next week.

Is the Spider-Man boxset any good, or the Heroes series' as I've never seen it?

Spider Man Box Set rocks. You should get the Spider-Man Box Set if you like the movies or if you like Comic book movies.

Not another one of these bloody threads...

Are you only interested in movies with great PQ and AQ to impress your friends with (i.e., to show off the size of your penis) or do you want a collection of movies you actually want to own?

Must owns are whatever movies YOU THINK are must own movies.

(I wish I could apologize for my earlier rudeness, but I can't. Asking what are "must-own" movies is such a pointless question.)

I don't know where else to post this but, I just got really excited because I never knew there was a Galapagos blu-ray out. That is way cool. I'm definitely buying it.
