The amount of conversation here dwarfs someplace like Twitter (with its very limited field of entry. 155 characters, really?), or Facebook, which is not at all user friendly. To borrow from an old Saturday Night Live skit (Phil Hartman), "give it to me straight. What's the word on the street?" Pay somebody $50k a year to go out among the little people, and find out what the buzz is. Companies pay advertising firms millions each year to analyze metrics. But I don't think they have a real idea what's going on here. How difficult is it to start a poll on a place like this? Clearly, that's not going to be representative of the greater public, but a company could get a pretty good idea how popular the film would be if sold, relative to the number of people on the forum.

Have a great weekend. I look forward to chatting with you more.

Hi, Blu Titan. Thank you. Nice to meet you, by the way. I accepted your invite. Always happy to talk about film with new, friendly people.

I have a bunch of the films I named sitting on my DVR. It's amusing to me how much money film distributors are leaving on the table. You can't tell me that something like Bringing Up Baby, or The Philadelphia Story, would require a hard sell to get remastered. One would think that would be a wise investment for somebody like Warner Bros. A one time expense, and then start doing pressings of the movie.

If I were a big wig at Warner, or Sony, for example, I'd hire somebody specifically to roam the net, reading movie boards like this one, or Criterion Forum.org. I'd not wait for people to volunteer information on Twitter, or Facebook. The real valuable discussions go on across the web on message boards.

Great post in the news section regarding classics releases in Blu. Huge Cary Grant fan here. Bringing up Baby is in my top five all time...would love to own it in Blu-ray .

How's it going? Thanks for the kind words. Always nice to be complimented by a fellow film, music and sports lover. I looked through your collection and I have to agree with you. We have scary close tastes. Keep it going man as it's really good. What I like doing is going through other collections that are similar to mine and get ideas on what I want to buy. I've actually blind bought quite a few titles from a someone's collection that's similar to mine and it's worked out about 90% of the time. Anytime you feel like chatting, just send a message. I'm pretty much on every day so talking movies is always a good thing for me. Take care!
