Just wanted to say hello from another "older" collector. I read your post in the VS thread talking about the ages of some members. Yours was the one single post that I read by someone who was also born back in the '50s. I'm 72 now and although getting older can be kind of a drag, it's great revisiting these eras and more with films. When I was a kid, I couldn't imagine being this age and never appreciated that getting older would entail so many daily aches and pains. I can sympathize with what my grandparents were going through when I was just a kid. Now I can't blame them for being a little cranky some days!

Film has been a major love for me all my life and it's always nice to find other collectors who share that obsession!

I've enjoyed your posts for quite a while. It's nice reading stuff from somebody else who remembers back to those now long ago decades.

All my best, brother! Looking forward to reading more of your posts down the road.

    Hey Jobla:

Do you know any way to get hard-copies of these???

I've found Boot BRs at Street Fairs in the Bay Area SF recently, that are pretty decent. I picked-up a really nice "Local Hero" (now being released on Criterion) and a "Murphy's Romance" and "Earth Girls Are Easy" that all look really nice compared to the DVDs.

GIDGET GOES HAWAIIAN was released as a widescreen MOD DVD by Columbia Classics a few years ago.

GIDGET GOES TO ROME has appeared in a beautifully remastered widescreen print on TCM.
