My name is Tom, and I am a massive fan of classic/foreign/artsy films. I began my odyssey four or five years ago with watching the IMDB Top 250. I instantly fell in love when watching Forrest Gump and Shawshank Redemption, so I continued to watch 1970s+ films. Once the well dried up, I gave some classic films a try and have not look backed since.

Nowadays I watch mostly Japanese films, whether this is Classic, Samurai, New Wave, Anime or Horror/Exploitation.

I like the cinema of the "master". The directors which truly take the film art-form to another level and make it their own. Whether this is Peter Greenaway, Shohei Imamura or Hou Hsiao-Hsien. I can never go back to the dull mainstream now. The Butterfly Effect, Snatch and Sin City have all turned from my favourite films to absolute dribble with recent viewings.
