i don't think you are understanding this correctly.

when they shoot them with a digital camera, they are shooting with a camera that is doing 1080i max, no going up from there.

batman was shot on film, which has a resolution well above 1080p, so they can make a 1080p transfer out of that, they can't off shooting the concerts in digital with a 1080i camera.

what you should be asking them for, is to start shooting the concerts in 1080p and not 1080i.

And why not put 1080i on a blu-ray disc if thats the best you can do, it still looks a million times better than a DVD. Its not like they don't clearly state its only 1080i on the package.
