DV, better build quality, potentially better audio quality (pretty sure they use different DACs), true universal player, better warranty. I'm sure there's more but all that comes at a premium price.

True, but those people probably shouldn't be looking into this player in the first place. $700 is a lot of money to drop if you have poor credit and might not be the best player option.
