It was more like 6 years. From 2010 to 2016.

While the 3-D TV market is dead, brand new projectors and HMD's still have 3-D compatibility.

3-D enthusiasts who purchase vintage 3-D films are a small niche, but very dedicated. The market is there, but profit margins are thin. So only 3rd party publishers like Kino Lorber, Vinegar Syndrome, and Flicker Alley are willing to put up the money, and dedicated restorers like the 3DFA are willing to work with microscopic budgets.
