The MyTouch is the G1 in a much better package. Other than that, if you're not too thrilled with the G1/Android, you're not going to find anything redeeming in the MyTouch unless the hardware is your only hang up. After owning and selling the G1 and owning an unlocked iPhone for a year and a half, Android feels like a pale imitation of the iPhone OS. Sure it's open source, but that doesn't mean that there's any sort of quality to the applications. That's my biggest problem with it, is that the apps feel cheap, homebrewed, and in many cases, half assed. Android, compared to the iPhone, and even Blackberry with App World, just doesn't have much "real" dev support, since in comparison to iPhone and Blackberry owners, almost nobody owns an Android phone. Maybe in a few years that will change, but I found that the G1 is not a worthy substitute for the iPhone, and not anywhere close to the iPhone killer it was positioned as. The Cupcake update was pretty lackluster for me. The touch screen keyboard, which was my most awaited feature, pretty much sucks. It's the same on the MyTouch.

The G1 is nothing like the iPhone, which is why I sold it! The difference is night and day!
