I talked about this in the Curzon thread, but I definitely appreciate when a film comes out on disc months before the UK release (January 2024!), especially when it likely won’t come out on disc or play in any cinemas near me. So though €28 is more than some would spend on one film, it would basically cover the travel costs and cinema ticket if I decided to wait until January.
With France it works both ways. Plenty of films get French discs that don’t get UK ones (
After Yang, Showing Up) or months or at least half a year before the UK (
Benedetta, Fumer fait tousser, Revoir Paris, R.M.N.), but then
Saint Omer ends up DVD only in France with a UK Blu-ray.
