I was super excited for Captain Marvel and enjoyed it a lot, and still do. I barely cared that The Marvels was coming out though. I've been lenient on the MCU's flaws post-Endgame as they still do have some great content, but it's all basically become a bland Saturday morning cartoon show with a rotating cast of super heroes battling the generic villain of the week.

And why pay to go see that when you can simply wait a few months and watch it on D+
to be fair, we are the minority in that regard, with many/most of us having great home theater setups. The average consumer goes to the theater to see something on the big screen, for the spectacle. I have a 135" movie screen in my house, but most people don't. So they go to the theater for big action films.
