Anyone who has recently read the Hollywood and financial trades knows that while Chapek was "nominally" CEO, in reality Iger was still in charge. So this PR blitz he's on is only fooling the Disney die-hards. Speaking of not very nice people, Elon gained a lot of new friends by calling out Iger to his face.

Bottom line, YouTubers were begging Disney to release the Marvels because they knew it would be YouTube Christmas. But as bad as we all thought it would be, no one thought it would be this bad. It is literally the worst performing MCU movie in every meaningful metric you can think of.

P.S. If Deadpool performs as well as we all think it will, then watch Iger take credit even though it was greenlit by Chapek.

Ignoring the who's at fault argument, he's not wrong about the problem of quantity over quality. They've pushed so much MCU content in the last few years that people are just worn out from it and the demand that Disney has placed on everyone to get this stuff out shows at every level of the movie/show making process.

I was super excited for Captain Marvel and enjoyed it a lot, and still do. I barely cared that The Marvels was coming out though. I've been lenient on the MCU's flaws post-Endgame as they still do have some great content, but it's all basically become a bland Saturday morning cartoon show with a rotating cast of super heroes battling the generic villain of the week.

And why pay to go see that when you can simply wait a few months and watch it on D+
