IMO, Connery was just too BIG of an actor for the part - it would have been "Sean Connery and the Ring." He would have overwhelmed the rest of the ensemble.
ANYWAY, saw "The Unknown" from the Tod Browning set, which I got from the sale just for Joan Crawford, who is ethereal.
The movie restoration is pretty good. The negative is beat up, but it looks fine for the most part. Crawford owns the camera, Lon Chaney is Marlon Brando without talking, and it's a very good suspense/thriller/drama with a solid payoff ending.
