i very much doubt that..i in fact . I think the software emulation is the same as the 80 GB....

, ONE OF THE BIG COST OF THE PLAYSTATION 3 IN ITS BREAKDOWN ON A PART BY PART BASIS WOULD BE THE COST IN HARDDRIVES..sony does not make HARDDRIVES they get charged a premium for them that is PROB. in my experience why they have been eliminating SKU's and bringing in new ones the cost is cheaper because the HARDDRIVE's are bought in bulk but since SONY does not have a production line for the production of HARDDRIVE they have to buy them off of someone else...

by the way . the playstation 3 60 GB used SEAGATE HardDrives
