I just ordered MI:III blu-ray. Does anyone know what video codec was used? What should I expect?
Thanks!

MI3 used MPEG2, but was widely recognised as one of the best BDs around. There is nothing wrong with said codec, it just requires more space to store on a BD, hence 50gb discs, two of the best discs for PQ (KoH and BHD) use MPEG2 compression. It is said that MPEG2 stays more faithful to the master, it will not change anything, while VC-1 seems to remove film grain and make the picture softer in a few cases, and AVC is still not widely used in enough discs to make a judgement either way.
