Although it's far from a perfect movie, Cloverfield was superior than Del Toro's over-hyped cliché-filled James Cameron-quality script. The story/characters/acting were so awful I was praying for the monsters to kill every last person on the planet. The action contained almost zero excitement. I was severely disappointed with Pacific Rim.
