THIS.

Although it's far from a perfect movie, Cloverfield was superior than Del Toro's over-hyped cliché-filled James Cameron-quality script. The story/characters/acting were so awful I was praying for the monsters to kill every last person on the planet. The action contained almost zero excitement. I was severely disappointed with Pacific Rim.

Both movies are cool... one is more grounded and the other farfetched. Both are awesome in their own ways!

Bring in Godzilla!

Cloverfield doesn't have Charlie Hunnam "yell-acting" for 2 hours. That alone makes Cloverfield far superior to Pacific Rim.

PR is nothing like Cloverfield. Cloverfield is a found footage movie that takes place in NY. While PR is an action movie set in many different parts of the world.

I enjoyed both, but Cloverfield is the better film. One of my favorites of all time. It was terrifying the first time I saw it in the theater.

I very much love both films. They're excellent for different reasons, but I'm sure they'll make a great triple feature down the line with the original 'Godzilla'. I look forward to that night.

Sorry Cine, but how can someone be 100% correct on a persons opinion?

Haven't you noticed half the people on here are 100% correct on all their opinions?

Obviously you haven't been paying attention...

Foggy, I listed facts, not an opinion.

But New York isn't in the Pacific

Also in Cloverfield it is suggested that the Moster comes from space.

Where as Pacific Rim tells us that the Kaiju come from another dimension.

I personally think it would be best to leave each film in it's own universe.

Can't wait for Godzilla next year. The teaser trailer gave me an erection.

I hate Charlie Hunnam's acting, and most of the acting ftm in PR. I wasn't a huge fan of Cloverfield either though. PR did have some cool fights but that's about it.

I know it doesn't bother some, but bad acting kills a movie for me.

You could take the few monster scenes out of cloverfield and still have a watchable movie by just implying everything, pacific rim not so much. If pacific rim was called transformers 4 everyone would say how much it sucks.

I enjoyed both. I'd pick Pacific Rim over Cloverfield though.
