I think (correct me) the biggest concern with humidity is that fungus may grow on the actual disc (I don't think BD is better protected in that regard). And apparently it is extremely difficult to kill the fungus if it appears.

Apparently they sell special cabinets that auto-dehumidify to whatever relative h level you want it to be at (some also AC it to a temp). No idea how much these things cost.
