I have started a petition to have the Anne of Green Gables film series released by the Criterion Collection. I hope I can count on your signature, as well as sugestions and ideas.

I'd love to sign myself, but sadly I don't see it making much headway. Particularly in light of it having a current release, even if it's not ideal.
![]() Edit: Oh, what the heck. Signed. ![]() Last edited by Thomas Irwin; 03-23-2018 at 05:31 AM. |

Here's anything TV-related Criterion ever released: https://www.criterion.com/lists/399744-tv-on-criterion The Taking of Power by Louis XIV (aka The Rise of Louis XIV) appears to be the only TV movie they released on DVD or Blu-ray (no idea if this list accounts for LaserDisc, but I'm guessing not). Martha Graham: Dance on Film I'm not sure of. They don't seem to touch those really, which might explain why they're not releasing The Day After. But they have released TV mini-series. On Blu-ray though, it's pretty scarce, and as far as I know World on a Wire and Carlos are the only ones that aren't an alternate version of a theatrically released movie, in other words a mini-series from beginning to end. |

Why? Sullivan's remaster of this is quite good - it's honestly hard to imagine it looking any better!
Now what WOULD be worthy is trying to get Sullivan to release the sequel on individual blu. And their pricing is outrageous. But as far as the quality of the remaster, it's pretty good considering this was a TV movie shot on 16mm film. They've done about as well as they could with it I think. |
