Default Toshiba drops MSRP

The Blu Ray vs HD DVD player MSRP gap gets bigger again, Toshiba MSRP down to $299.

There was a special for it to be at that price. Now it is permanent. The press release also mentions 24p coming to the XA2 and A20. They also are not dropping the price of the XA2, keeping it at 799 LOL. So the top end Sony, Panasonic, Samsung players are all cheaper then the XA2. Good job toshiba.

You have to do a little thinking looking at the graphs but it's interesting to view. The number of people selling has been holding steady since May. The number of leads is mixed according to which model. I think leads are people who click on the merchants not necessarily completed transactions.

Toshiba is diffently feeling the heat now from the Blu-Ray camp. With the their lack of studio support from studios like Disney, Sony & Fox they are truly in the corner now and are about to be knocked out. I can't wait till this holiday season where it should be nice and Blu.

HD-DVD is like a small flea. Now that we have in our fingers we have to carefully dispose of the thing so it doesn't keep sucking blood. This is a critical time right now. Keep applying pressure.
(How's that for an allegory?)

Pretty soon, these players will be free if you send in cereal box-tops.
