I saw the pre-order was up; I thoroughly enjoyed this when I saw it on its theatrical release - a very entertaining film. Not sure if I will get the BD (perhaps if the price drops.)

And hello there Pro-B It's been a while (used to frequently bump into you regarding French movies/discs over on DVDTalk.)

Why is that surprising, considering the origin of the disc?

The film is to be released September 16 in Australia (Link) and November 10 in the UK (Link), but neither territory has listed a BD release; only DVD.

Can anyone with connections to the respective distributors shed more info? Perhaps a glimmer of hope?

As far as the UK is concerned, there is indeed only a SDVD release planned at the moment. (note: The French disc is not English-friendly).

The film opened in limited release in the USA on 30 July, so our release shouldn't be way too far off, but it's being handled by The Weinstein Company/Vivendi so a US BD release is a toss up, I'd say.

EDIT: There is an Amazon.com placeholder for a Blu-ray, but that doesn't mean anything for definite.

Unfortunately, there are no current plans for a U.S. release.

Default I like good music.

I saw the movie. I thought that it was wonderful.
It was English voice-over and very well done.
The tone of the movie is what I would have expected as a depiction of the Soviets.
The acting was awsome. The story was believable. The sentiment and music was superb.
