Default Paradigm Rocks!

Well I had to post it some where. I switched to an Infinity beta system to a Paradigm system with moniter 9, 470cc, and adp 370 and a ps 1000, all V1.4 what a diference. No more infinity for me.

sounds very nice. was considering them when i purchased my current system. i ended up with b&w instead. i personally liked the sound more. but, i am considering paradigm for my next upgrade.

I wish I had the money for their studio series. Never heard of b&w. I Think alot of the speakers depend on the amp driving them too. I think I am goinng to get an Athiem amp to push the speakers, nice clean and cheap.

http://www.bwspeakers.com/

there you go.

currently running the 602s, cc6 center, 601 rears with a m&k sub (can't remember the model)

i agree, the amp makes a huge difference. you can have an amp rated at 100 watts but if it aint clean, it will sound terrible. i do like the anthem equipment a lot. i demoed an amp a few months back and enjoyed it, just don't have the money

Default Ah for the day....

when B&O made both technically fantastic and fantastic looking components.

I remember a day way back when ... in the mid 70s ... when I went into a sound room out fitted with a top end B&O set. With the music playing and me sitting near the center of the room with my eyes closed I could not locate the speakers. It was a forerunner of the current 7.1 systems (IIRC it was 7.2 or 9.2). The sound was pervasive in the room and the speakers effectively disappeared.

Since that time B&O has decided to make visually pretty systems that are technically marginal. Oh well.

It's comforting to know that several other companies have not let their technical capabilities slip like that.

Thumbs up Oldtimers

I have a Phase Linear DRS 250 integrated amplifier with a pair of Infinity RSb speakers for 27 years and I can tell you they sound still phenomenally after all these years.
Cannot comprehend the prices of some of the today's hi-fi components and they still sound like junk?!
Totally agree with opinion on Infinity
