I have a PS3 and a LGBH200 Bluray/HDDVD player and I was trying to watch monsters vs aliens a while back and had problems watching it al the way through on my LG because I had not updated it in a while. So I switched it to my PS3 and the difference was huge! the PS3 puts out a excellent picture but it just can't match the LG. I did this with a lot of movies. And the LG is much brighter more vivid and colors just pop off the screen more. Now for my new dilema. In all my experimentation I found that the sound of my PS3 blows my LG's sound away. Now if I can find a new Bluray payer that can combine the picture and sounds of them both life would be perfect lol. I was looking at the Denon DVD-2500BTCI or Denon -3800BDCI because it would be a match for my Denon 4308ci. the reviews are pretty good but I have never seen or heard it in action. Does any one have any other sugestions on other players? It will be connected to a Denon 4308ci.

The Oppo BDP83 is like a media hub that can play your complete media library ( SACD, DVD Audio, DVD, Bluray, CD) at a reasonable price of $499 plus the packaged player comes wrapped inside an Oppo carrying bag and includes a Spears & Munsil Bluray calibration disc, HDMI cable, and an Audio Calibration disc. Oppo definitely goes all out to ensure their player will function to it's maximum capacity. Buy the Oppo you won't be sorry. What video display setting do you have on your PS3? You should probably be using "Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (HDMI) ON" unless you have it hooked up to a computer monitor, in which case switch to "RGB Full Range". Maybe that will fix your issue.
I concur with the Oppo suggestion above though. DVD-A & SACD surround playback is icing on the cake! |

How are you connected and what audio settings are you using on each of these players? Are you using the same input on your receiver set up in the same way for both players?
