More or less they do. I know Pioneer releases their new models usually around the summer.

Yes, most companies release new receivers every year, usually by mid-year..

Edit...what Fors said...

I think most every company puts out new models every year. However, every model in a company's lineup may not get updated. For example, the Pioneer Elite SC-09TX and the Marantz SR7002 and SR8002 haven't been updated in a couple of years, but the rest of the models in their lineups have been.

Well if you want HDMI 1.4 (Required for True-3D) you might want to wait. Although, receivers this year may not even have it. You might have to wait a year or so.

But there are workarounds for HDMI 1.3 Receivers and 3D. So its not a critical feature or anything.

What's the workaround (and is this already being discussed somewhere else)?

I believe it involves seperating the video from the audio with HDMI cables. Allowing the video to go directly to the display instead of thru the receiver.....

Sort of ... basically you purchase an HDMI 1.4 splitter. So Blu-ray 1.4 to splitter, then one HDMI 1.3 is feed to your receiver and one HDMI 1.4 is fee to your TV/Projector. All is good.

Plus, 3D BD players will probably have dual HDMI ports. One for Audio (HDMI 1.3) and Video (HDMI 1.4).

Thanks tilallr1...I rememebered something about them being seperate in order for it to work around the 1.4 issue.
