Default Denon's HDMI 1.3 Receivers "scheduled for mid-year introduction"

Quote:
Per usual the new receivers will be offered in entry, mid and upper-end models and as noted above all the new Denon (and again presumably Marantz) models will support HDMI 1.3 and 1080p pass-through, however there are some exciting new features specifically reserved for the mid to upper-end models.

According to Audio DesignLine some models will offer video processing from Silicon Optix (HQV) while others will be equipped with Faroudja or Analog Devices video processors. In addition some of the mid to upper-end receivers will natively decode Dolby Digital Plus. In addition to those features the high-end receivers will also offer internal decoding of Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master HD Audio.

That's excellent news. DTS-MA and TrueHD decoding here we come!
HDMI 1.3 will be here before we know it. I can't wait to see the price points on Denon and Pioneer's HDMI 1.3 receivers.

I suspect this is where the rest of the "7" series comes in for Denon.

The 3807, 4807, and possibly even a 5807 and maybe even some CI variants?

I would be surprised if the MSRP on the cheapest of these is lower than the mid thousands or so.

My 887 just got delivered a few minutes ago. Luckily, my Panny will handle all the decoding necessary so 1.3 isn't necessary.

The one thing I really want is PCM decoding and upconverting of all video to HDMI, so I have only one cable to my TV.

1:48am edit: I have a Pioneer THX receiver right now that doesn't do either. I really like it, but I want to use uncompressed audio and put all video through one output.

I should have qualified by saying I need it kind of cheap. I have the 1016x, which doesn't do HDMI audio or converting video to the HDMI out. I couldn't find a receiver that did both for my price range, which was $500 tops when I bought it. The cheapest I found was $999, I think.
