A BD-related question for US opera lovers

In the UK, DG and Decca seem to be alone among the opera labels in releasing their BDs in the thicker 15mm cases that are also used here for movies.

Can someone confirm whether their releases in the US are in the same 15mm cases - or are they in the thinner 11mm or 12mm cases that are generally used for movies in the US?

I can't think of any good reason why these companies would want to print two versions of the artwork fitting different case sizes for the two territories, since these discs are all-region and probably have exactly the same subtitle options. Still, it wouldn't be the first time that large companies had wasted money needlessly.

Examples of operas released on BD by Decca and DG would include Carmen, La Traviata, Eugene Onegin and Der Rosenkavalier.

Indeed, Decca's Carmen and La Traviata arrive in the thicker European cases. The other two titles I have not seen yet, but I would assume that they also arrive in the thicker cases.

Yep--they're all imported from Europe and in the thicker cases except for one that I'm aware of: 'The Tribute to Pavarotti', which is made in the US. I'm still waiting for Decca to bring in its 'Rosenkavalier' with Fleming, which has been out in Europe for at least a couple of months now. (I may have to break down and order it from MDT.) I've got nearly all of the Decca/DG Blu releases and they're of uniformly high quality, but they seemed to have stopped putting out new stuff on Blu, just when the other classical labels have been increasing the number of their releases.
