Default Question about Onkyo HT-6200 Multichannel Output

I love my system but one of the things that bugs me about it is that with the 7.1 system, when the audio is 5.1, the rear sound comes out of my right and left (side) speakers and not the right and left rear speakers like it does with the 7.1. Is there any way to change so that rear 5.1 sounds comes out of my rear speakers?

Default 7.1 sound

Dolby PLIIx. Read your instruction manual. It has a wealth of information.

I've read the manual pretty thoroughly and I've specifically looked for the 411 on addressing this issue and I've been unable to find anything on it (hence, why I asked the question to begin with), but regardless, I think you're misunderstanding the question. I'm not trying to artificially expand a 2 channel source to 7.1 nor am I even trying to expand a 5.1 source to a 7.1. What I'm trying to do is is use an HD Audio source (whether it be 5.1 DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD) in multichannel like I normally do but simply change what speakers the rear audio comes out of in 5.1. I still only want 5 channels, I just want the 5.1 rear audio to come out of my 2 rear apeakers as opposed to my right and left (side) speakers like they are now.

No. Even in a 5.1 system, the surround speakers are supposed to be to your side, just behind your head. Not behind you, like the two back surround speakers in a 7.1 system. See setup info on Dolby's site: http://www.dolby.com/consumer/setup/...ide/index.html So, in a 7.1 system, there's no way to make the sound from a 5.1 soundtrack, come from the back surround speakers, except to use Dolby Pro Logic IIx as mentioned.
