Default BD external drive, Mac compatible, region free

Does anyone know if such an external BD drive/burner exists? It needs to be mac compatible, be able to be multi region... are any external drives multi region compatible?

Yeah, it's over by the unicorn, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and the Loch Ness monster.

IE, no. No Mac, no way you're going to see a region free player without a hack.

No Blu-ray software players are available for the Mac.

Blu-ray regions are handled in the software, not the drive.

we hooked up a Blu-ray burner to our Mac Pro, and we could hook it up to any of our Macs. I have burnt a couple of blu-rays with it. I just don't have a lot of people asking for Blu-rays, so it doesn't get a lot of use.

We got this http://www.videoguys.com/Bundle/Blu-...m+Pro/228.aspx

Toast 10 can only do automatic chapter points, but you can use Adobe Encore CS3+. So I would get CS5 package if I were you.

You won't be able to watch bought Blu-rays on your computer, but you can definitely author them and run extra copies. The Blu-rays and DVDs you author can be in any region you like, or even multi-region.

Yes there is. My brother recently bought one for me for my birthday. It's from LACIE. The company that also makes Mac compatible Hard Drives. Look it up on the net.

It's LACIE D2 Blu Ray Drive Blu Ray/DVD/CD RW USB 2.0

Yes. It is multi-region. Although like a DVD Drive, you can only change regions 5 times then it's locked to the last region you changed to.

My brother snagged a bargain on Ebay. It retails for A$550, but my brother paid A$280 for it. Cool, huh?

As I stated, there is no Mac software available to play Blu-ray movies. BD-ROM drives, BD combos and BD recorders are available but not playback software.

All DVD drives and BD playback software can change regions five times but this does not make them "region free".
