Will we ever get The Breakfast Club on Blu? - Blu-ray Forum

This is like one of my favorite films and one I would double dip on without even thinking twice. I know it came out on HDDVD and the transfer from what I have read was less than stellar. Can I expect to get this on Blu-Ray with a improved transfer over HDDVD? Hope I'm not getting my hopes up.

anything released on hd dvd will come out eventually, probably sooner than later

It'll eventually come out. Maybe in 2010 for its 25th anniversary(yes, it's been THAT long).

I doubt it'll have a better transfer than the HD-DVD. There's only so much that can be done given the source material. But I wouldn't be surprised to see DTS HD-MA 5.1 audio and the audio commentary with Anthony Michael Hall and Judd Nelson from the recent DVD re-release.

Give it some more time ALOT of movies that were just out for HD DVD are making their way to Blu Ray ( some faster then others ).
