Smile Oh sweet ignorance!!!

Well I don't no where this one is coming from and have not seen it on the net anywhere but in the last few weeks I have struck up serveral conversations with individuals looking throught the HDM sections at the local Bestbuy. Twice I have heard the following:

"HD-DVD is going away in Feb 2009."

The first guy told me that he bought a Blu-ray player because of it. I did tell him that it was NTSC going away and not HD-DVD but that he had made the right choice IMHO because Blu-ray had much greater CE and Studio support. Because of this it has a much better chance of surviving than HD-DVD.

The second guy was just today. He has a Xbox Elite with an Add-On. Told me that he was just looking and couldn't bring himself to invest more into this format since its going away. I just smiled and played along as if I didn't know better. I did tell him the the PS3 makes for a great Blu-ray player and addressed his concerns about fan noise. Don't think anything came of it yet.

Well at least this one works in Blu's favor.
