Default Consumer ignorance

ok, so the guys at work know i have ps3 and 1080p tv, while some don't fully understand, they just shake their head as if its cool, which it is. so, one of them recently sent me an email that had a samsung lcd 42" 1080p tv ad from BBY asking "is this a good tv?"

i knew right then and there that this required some face time rather than an email response. long story shortened, i gave him a list of everything he needed, including a upgrade in cable service and he ended up getting the tv. all the time letting him know that the ps3 can play blu-ray movies that would look great on this tv that you want to get, yada yada....

so, today he's talking to me telling me that the tv looks good but, his wife had come back from blockbuster with these high def movies, blu-rays, that wouldn't work in the dvd payer. at this point i'm just trying to not laugh in this guys face, cuz he's a good guy and it was his wife's fault. so, i procede to explain to him again that santa needs to put a ps3 under the tree this year and then you'll be able to watch those movies.

moral of this story, consumer awareness needs to be boosted severely.
