Default Questions about Rambo: First Blood Part II

I've read there are odd blue lines on the picture, here and there. Is it true?

Overall speaking, what's the PQ of all the first 3 movies on BD format?

Huge thanks.

Uni,

I'd say the Rambo blu-rays FAR exceeded my expectations. They are fabulous looking - I certainly wasn't prepared for the great job Lionsgate did with these transfers. You shouldn't be disappointed at all...

Ben, this is a great news, I'm only disappointed by those "blue lines" everyone is describing... print faults? Or transfer faults?
Rambo rules!

I never experienced any lines in any of the movies, and I thought they all looked pretty good. Definately worth buying for the price the boxed set currently goes for.

I have no idea what "blue lines" you're talking about. "Everyone" is describing them? First I've heard of it.

They're fine, trust me. You seem to always worry too much about tiny, insignificant flaws. Just enjoy the movies.

Ben,

From blu-ray.com (about the box set):

"The print is clean, free of any severe defects, save for an odd blue line that popped up several times, noted at the following time frames: 31:30, 52:00, and 55:20. There may have been other such lines, though each lasted for only a split-second."

I just don't care about dirt, but IF that is true, then someone got the transfer wrong, that's it.

The transfer's fine, you'll find something wrong with everything if you nitpick hard enough.

If you like them, buy them. They look great.

I also have no idea what "blue lines" you and others are seeing. I own all four of them on Blu and a couple months ago watched all four on consecutive Sundays. I was BLOWN AWAY by how good they looked and sounded.

On a side note: Rambo III is both funny and sad as it tells of the "heroic struggle" of the Afgahns against the Russians, and ends with a quote that is nearly chilling in the present day sense. Hard to believe it but if there's any film that explains what we're up against over there watch "Rambo III" and realize that NO COUNTRY is ever really going to "win" over there

Yeah I noticed that!

Kinda made me chuckle a little, but at the same time it is sad to see how much the world has changed.. On the other hand - it was probably just another way to stick it to the Russians..

The audio is pretty good to these ears, no complaints.

RAMBO is a man's man. I'd like to see them make RAMBO 5 and it just be 90 minutes of NC-17 LEVEL VIOLENCE WITH Sly kicking the crap out of ladyboy Leo Dicaprio

I have all three and didn't notice any blue lines on them, but this is what I did notice.

First Blood: PQ was much better than I expected.

Rambo: First Blood Part II: PQ was pretty good but maybe First Blood was a little better. Still very nice to see in HD.

Rambo III: PQ was a letdown for me. Too soft and it just seemed like it was out of focus too much compared to the first two.

Just for the record, I'm not the only one that noticed this.

Default PQ is awesome...film quality

I just want to correct something noted in the Bluray.com review of Rambo: First Blood Part II...the AQ is amazing. The reviewer noted a lack of surround and LFE involvement in the sound mix. My receiver played the DTS-HD MA 5.1 and it shook the house from the explosions. The surrounds durig the chopper chases, etc. were robust and exciting. No, they aren't on par with the latest action films, but the PQ and AQ are superb given the age of the films and how they have looked on past video releases and television airings. Anyone looking into owning these films on BD should go for it. They have been treated with reverance in their high-def mastery. The newest Rambo is excellent as well, with one of the best reference grade PQ/AQ I have yet seen in the format.
