IMAX: Special Effects - Isn't it about time? - Blu-ray Forum

It's been ten years since the release of the IMAX feature Special Effects.

It seems to be the only major IMAX title that has not seen the light of day on video in any form. This is the one where the famous opening sequence to the original Star Wars was reshot in the IMAX format. A superb production with mind-blowing visual effects.

It would be the perfect title for a Blu-ray release.

Actually, I still thought the original footage was better

I agree.

However, seeing a Stardestroyer cruise overhead in IMAX was truly a sight to behold!

The rest of the film was superb, too!

I really hope that this film sees the light of Blu in the near future.

Seeing and hearing a Star Destroyer cruise overhead with magnetic 4.1 tracks in 2.20 70mm SuperPanavision blown up from 35mm Scope reduced from VistaVision with the sound coming from the hard back and going over your head till it reached the screen was an experience to behold too

but I never got a chance to see this Special Effects IMAX version :/ so it'd be nice to have it premiered on home video in Blu-ray.
