Default HD DVD players cheap, but...

There is a catch to the $ 300 HD DVD players they don't have HDMI 1.3. As far as I know you have to spend $ 900 to get an HDMI 1.3 connection. If you dont have an HDMI 1.3 connection you will be un able to get DD True HD I think, andnd I would stake my life that you can't get DTS HD master audio if you have any thing less than an HDMI 1.3 jack on the back of your player and your receiver.

PS3 60 gig (HDMI 1.3) in Canada for $549
PS3 80 gig (HDMI 1.3) in Canada for $659

So if you want to future proof your self get a 1.3 Blu Ray player their cheaper.

There is a difference between inexpensive and cheap. An HD-A20 is less expensive than a blu player, but it is also cheap.

Then I guess the X Box 360 the real dud of the war takes the cake for being cheap. I have 4 friends who own on only one can actually play it as I am typing this as the other 3 are getting theirs fixed.

I am not BSing you a ratio of 4:3 X Boxes are getting fixed

4:3 another ratio I despise.

And the *cheap* player is only 1080i, not 1080p! You think the average consumer gets this disclosure? NOT!!

So let's see:
1) you need to replace your HD-DVD player once you figure out it's only 1080i capable.
2) you need to replace it yet again to play those snazzy new TL51 disks.

Their entire marketing plan is a complete disaster. What a joke.

I have such confidence in BD succeeding it's not even funny.

Xbox360 is junk! No wonder they named it the 360 since Microsoft sells it to the customer it then breaks it gets send back to M$ then reshipped back to the customer. That is a vicious cycle that I will not participate in.
