I doubt its planned for anytime soon as none of speilbergs other universal films have been release or planned to be released on blu-ray. I wonder if the two are arguing.

Hi welcome to the forum. We get a lot of questions like this from new members so some of guys tend to make fun of it.

ET will be released on Blu-Ray once there is enough players in the home and a good share of the market.

That's usualy how Spielberg works when it comes to home media.

With E.T. turning 30 next year, could that be the time we finally see E.T. released on Blu?

Of all the big titles still waiting their turn to be released on Blu, E.T. has to be one of the biggest without a release date!!

Hopefully with Star Wars out of the way in 2011, Indiana Jones will be next in 2012!!!

I was expecting Indy last year...Isnt it rumored for the fall? ET is way overdue..the 30th anniversary is definitely a possibility that would be great if it happened.

Indy won't be out until next year. Lucasfilm wouldn't release both Star Wars and Indy in the same year.

I just hope when E.T. comes out, we get the 1982 version as well as Spielberg's preferred 2002 cut. HBO airs the 1982 version in HD from time to time.
