Default Jungle Book on BD?

I've seen the Disney CES news and the list of releases. There is no mention of JG in there. I thought at some point they had talked about BD Jungle Book in '08. Am I nuts?

No, there was a misprint when they announced the DVD in '07 saying it would available on Blu. That was quickly retracted. We will have to wait a bit longer.

Yeah, there was a brief flurry of excitement when Home Media Magazine listed a Jungle Book Blu-ray (complete with MSRP and all that) in one of their September issues. It was an erroneous announcement, however, and Disney has since stated that their first Platinum Edition Blu-ray will be Sleeping Beauty in October. I suppose that means no 101 Dalmatians Platinum Blu-ray in March, either... though I wish it were so!

I know it is great, I hope they accelerate the Pixar releases, The Incredibles would be well... incredible.

It would be nice to see some classic disney animation movies, but guess we will have to wait.

Here is the official website for Disney Blu-Ray. Hopefully soon, the'll have a bigger list of movies they plan on releasing on BD.

Jungle Book, in it's newly anamorphic DVD, is excellent. Unlike some Disney movies with far more detail, this title won't get much from the higher resolution of BD. When eventually released years from now, I won't be double-dipping.

Come on Disney!

The Jungle Book is one your best animated films.
Lets have it on Blu-ray with DTS HD MA 7.1 sound and a nice anamorphic widescreen remastered picture.

If they keep on rereleasing their classic animated films every seven years Peter Pan would beat out Jungle Book, because when I got both on their latest releases Peter Pan came out about a year before Jungle Book. Want both on blu though.

Bring on The Jungle Book. My wife's favorite Disney animated movie... and one of my favorites, too. Please Disney give the BIG treatment it deserves and that means DTS HD MA 7.1 sound and a nice anamorphic widescreen remastered picture

I sincerely doubt there won't be a large difference between DVD and Blu. I don't see how JB would be the ONLY Disney to not look fantastic in 1080p

Dude 2014 right??? on the disney release calendar..

Can't be serious. I must wait another 2 years...and I bet it won't even be lossless surround so ill be disappointed...There was a thread saying what the theatrical specs were for sound I think this was 4.0 maybe...giving hope to a DTSMA 5.1 mix possible. I just don't want to settle for a 2.0 or I at least want the option
