Talking Priest Review Thread (Spoilers)

The Hollywood Reporter says Paul Bettany is in negotiations to star in Priest, a horror Western that Michael De Luca and Stars Road Entertainment's Josh Donen are producing for Screen Gems. Mitchell Peck also will produce.

The move would reunite Bettany with director Scott Stewart, for whom he just finished starring in Legion, an upcoming Screen Gems supernatural thriller.

An adaptation of the TokyoPop comic book, Priest is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.

Cory Goodman (The Brood) wrote the screenplay.

"I knew the moment I saw Stewart's first cut of 'Legion' that Bettany was Priest and so I mentioned it to him immediately," Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper said.

No he wasn't a priest in A Knight's Tale. He was a writer named Geoffrey Chaucer. He was in the Priory of Scion in Da Vinci Code, that may be what you're thinking of.

What's wrong with a Knight's Tale, and which movies would you see as being the best in your mind.

The best of what? All-time, because I'm pretty sure that movie wouldn't rank top 50 on anybody's list, unless they have learning disabilities. Just because Heath Ledger made it a decade before he died doesn't automatically default it into the best films of all-time category. I love how everytime I say I thought the movie sucked everybody asks for my favorite movies haha, so they can look at my list and get redemption by saying "Oh that movie sucks, I got you good, hahahah"

I just don't feel movies featuring Knights should also have farting sessions and '70s rock soundtracks.

She is overrated

This movie sound's interesting however even if I do have a problem picturing Paul Bettany in the role as of now but I will be seeing it.

Totally agree. 0 sex appeal for me.

That said, I sort of like the movie.

No, he wasn't. He was an enforcer for a bishop of Opus Dei.
[Show spoiler]He killed the top members of the Priory of Scion in search of the keystone.

I alwasy find him interesting and funny, so as long as he can hold his own with whatever action there is, then I'm all for it.

Geoffrey Chaucer included fart jokes in his work, so I don't think this is setting any precedents.

Out of interest, what type of soundtrack would you have chosen? Orchestration or synth? Neither would have any relevance to the period either.

Who...? I have not heard of her before.. This movie does look like it could be interesting. He did play in Knights Tale and he played in Firewall and Divinci Code too.

I did not like it when I saw it in theaters, so I never saw reason to see it again. Yeah it's been a long time, but I only had bad memories of it, so for me it's just not one I'd revisit.

Rules is the only other movie I've ever seen her in and I have never been impressed by or attracted to her.
