Synopsis: Not content with his job as a bouncer at a local Beantown bar and a bit of an embarrassment to his accomplished family, Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott) dreams of the kind of success enjoyed by minor league hockey goon Ross Rhea (Liev Schreiber). When a chance encounter with an on-ice thug leads to a bloody fist fight that Doug easily wins, the coach of the Halifax Highlanders sees potential in this mammoth sized man who is only hampered by his lack of any hockey playing ability and his brother's old figure skates. Standing up to the taunts of the other players, Doug manages to join the team, and with the encouragement of his hockey obsessed best friend (Jay Baruchel) quickly becomes a rising star. Soon he'll have the opportunity to face off against Ross "The Boss" Rhea and perhaps finally land a girlfriend. Now - all he needs is to learn how to skate.

Funny, really over the top and... very very violent. Solid 6/10.

Finally watched the trailer for this last night. Surprisingly enough, I want to watch it when it comes out on Blu-ray. I expected it to look really dumb even in the trailer.

8/10 - I really enjoyed Goon. Funny, crude but with just enough heart. Sean William Scott was really good in this as was liev Schrieber. I know it doesn't open unitl March int eh US but worth checking out.

watched the Goon last night, what an awesome movie, much more than I expected, great love story tied in as well. 4/5 overall

I rented this on iTunes and thought it was great. Not a normal role for Sean William Scott, but he was very good in it. I plan to buy this when it's on Blu.

This was quite a surprise. The best thing in this film is the team. They're an amusing bunch. 3.5/5 for me.

It's got a limited theatrical release this week, and it's been available in VOD for a while now.

Saw it, thought it was beyond awful. I don't see where the good reviews are coming from, I hardly laughed or cared about the one dimensional characters. The fight at the end was good but that was it.

Goon was awesome! i enjoyed every minute of it... we really need more Hockey movies to hit the big screen.. Day 1 for me
