Default Leonardo DiCaprio & Matt Damon

My girlfriend and ivgot into a legitimate argument about these two actors. As funny as that that sounds...i was sticking up for them. They are my two favorite actors. But she says something about them rubs them the wrong way. Can i get some love for these guys? Also..what do you think they would be like in real life? And what do you feel their best film ever has been?

I wouldn't say they're my favourite but they are VERY good, chances are if they star in a movie I might see it. As far as real life goes I don't think they're any elitist at all, though if I had to compare I think Matt Damon is more "approachable". And dunno about best but my favourites would be Inception (The Departed is a close second) and The Bourne Ultimatum.

That would just make her hate him even more...

I HATED The Adjustment Bureau, and I like Matt Damon and John Slattery.

It was better when it was called Infernal Affairs.

Favorites:

Damon - Good Will Hunting
DiCaprio - Catch Me If You Can(Not his best film[Titanic], but the role I like him best in.)

We actually just watched the adjustment bureau together. It's a movie that started our whole argument about him lol. In my honest opinion I think either titanic or shutter island was leonardos best though. After being such a huge fan boy matt damon I still haven't seen the bourne trilogy. Is it good? I really love him in the movie hereafter. Probably because I felt a strong connection to his characters role.

You have no right to call yourself a Damon fanboy if you haven't even seen his flagship trilogy.

You have apparently never watched "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" or "Basketball Diaries".

One of the best things he's ever done and the role that turned me completely around on him. Prior to the Bourne series I thought he was a moderately talented, moderately charming pretty boy but I never really saw him as leading man material.

Leo has come along way since his stint on the mid 80's TV show "Growing Pains".....

Damon paid his dues early in Hollywood but has an Oscar to prove it.

Both are equal in talent and can carry a movie and or be part of a large ensemble without stealing the picture from the lead......

The better argument would be I wonder how the two buddies Affleck/Damon are towards each others careers as Damon is clearly the better of the two....

You are not a fan, lol.

Arguably his best work is the Bourne trilogy.

And Leo in Titanic, The Departed, Shutter Island and to a lesser extent Inception is brilliant.

My favorite though will always be Basketball Diaries.

I like almost every film Matt Damon has made except Stuck on You and Brothers Grimm.

Hating Leo because of swooning Titanic fangurls?...Oh, please. That is SO 90's.
(Thought he was good in "Shutter Island", too, until the whole thing turned into a poseur do-it-yourself Kafka plagiarism. Yeah, Marty, we've read the books too.)

And I don't even remember what Matt Damon was ever hate-typecast for, but that's probably because every time I try to, I keep confusing him with the misdirected celeb-weary guff Ben Affleck gets for his movies.

Now that Affleck is on the right side of the camera I'm not sure that's entirely true anymore. They're both very good at what they do.

i agree with your girlfriend, something about them rubs me the wrong way. i dont hate them or anything, just not at all crazy about them. i think Leo's best work is shutter island or whats eating gilbert grape. Damon's has to be the Bourne trilogy. i think they would both be very unapproachable in real life. just in different ways.
