Default Can you handle a ton of blood in movies?

I don't know if there's a topic like this anywhere, but I wanted to bring this one up. When watching a movie, and the scene turns bloody (not just a few drops, but full on explicit bloody) can you handle seeing it? Or does it make you sick and naseous? For me, it depends. I've seen my fair share of blood scenes in various movies and t.v shows. Some movie writers balance it out (like in LOTR) where the focus is on other things besides the blood. But at other times, blood in some movies is way too gory for me to handle
[Show spoiler] (The scene where Sarah and Shannon stick a knife in the choking guy's throat in The Heat for that latter example)

You?

I'm pretty desensitized at this point but most things with needles will get me (I can take a shot just fine).

The threat of violence is some times more effective than the actual showcase. I think there have been 4 long sequences involving people handling guns in separate films just this year (weird trend/commentary) that made me more uncomfortable than any gore.

Someone could be drowning in a giant vat of boiling blood and I would be able to laugh it off. Getting needles involved makes me a tad queezy though.

With me, getting nauseaous or freaked-out has more to do with the pain associated ina situation than the situation itself.

If you don't watch and soak in that violence and gore, how can you ever expect to become desensitized to it? Bring it on in buckets and let the blood run free!

Yeah, I know it's all fake anyway. They're just actors.

I can handle anything. As long as its fake. When it comes to movies, everything is obviously. But I've watched something else that I wish I never had.

No problem with blood and gore. There's only two types of violence I can't handle:

1) Anything involving things happening to eyes.

2) Crappy CGI Blood - it's not clever and it's not fun.

Oddly enough, i'm the same. The scene in Blade Runner where Roy Batty puts out Tyrell's eyes is hard to watch, but i have no problems with buckets of viscera in the Hatchet trilogy of films. As for crappy CG blood, i can't stand that, it looks so cheap. Thankfully it was used sparingly in Dredd...

If you can't handle blood in movies you have to watch Dead-Alive (Braindead).

Don't they all have a ton of blood these days? LOL Seriously though as one poster said above it depends on the scene the vibe the way its portrayed etc, but I haven't seen anything lately that makes me turn away.

Most of the time it doesn't faze me since I was raised on John Woo but I really feel uneasy watching some of Takashi Miike's movies.
