Mkv On Ps3 Help? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi everyone,is there a way to play an mkv video file on the ps3 or does anybody even know of software that will convert it to do so???

Best thing to do is to change the file into vob:
Program below should be able to do it, i have not yet tested it myself

Tried this software but it doesnt work thanks anyway

This seems to be an option at the moment (though it only seems to work over component for now) it says it does MKV files.

I know a powerful MKV to PS3 Converter as well as a step by step guide on how to convert MKV to PS3 supported format so as to successfully stream and play HD 720p or 1080p MKV on PS3.

Google search "step by step guide on how to convert MKV to PS3" to get it.

Convert it, I use a ps3 converter by the company red kawa. Works great.

does MKV2VOB no longer work? Converts them to mpeg's that will play on the PS3.

I haven't tried it in a while but I don't think there's been any updates since. Last time I used it, nothing worked properly. It was either no video or no sound or no subs (foreign language file). And that's if it managed to get thru the encoding process with out a problem or crashing altogether.

I would think that the person asking the question would have long since discovered a solution before you decided to answer them.
