Question Where oh where is the real Moby Dick

So now that we have the 2011 version of Moby Dick released on Blu-ray
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Moby-Dick-Blu-ray/27567/
when the heck are they going to release the previous versions, and I am not referring to that psycho picture with Barry Bostwick and a submarine that I skimmed through on you tube.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1694508/

I want the 1956 version with Gregory Peck going off the deep end. One of my three favorite movies of all time and one of my favorite performances as well. Although my ideal would be to have a Star Trek TOS move and provide the original model whale version and another version you could select with an enhanced CGI whale. I'm sure a CGI whale would irritate a lot of people but it might make the movie a little more enjoyable for younger viewers. My son was riveted a couple of years ago when watching, but afterward he said he wished the whale looked more realistic. I loaned out my DVD a couple of weeks ago to a younger colleague then had an enjoyable argument about the movie.

I also want the 1930 version with John Barrymore. I used to have this on VHS but loaned it out and forgot who had it. Probably one of the best unintentionally funny movies I have ever seen. I haven't ever seen the Sea Beast which was the silent version from 1925, although I have oddly seen the DVD available for sale. I doubt I would ever pick up the 1978 version which I watched twice on VHS and have kept on the shelf since then.

I was also wondering if anyone watched the 2011 version yet and how they thought it compared to any of the earlier versions.

I know what you're talking about. We need this on blu. For a 1956 movie the effects were outstanding. The whale was remarkable.

I found this thread and wanted to update some information - it has been released in Australia under the " Hollywood Gold Series" which have had a good record bringing out titles that tend to look pretty decent. I was going to order this, although there are currently no reviews or other information on this particular release - which came out on July 2. Not sure if it is Region locked but I can play them regardless. Anyone interested might want to check it out.

Good stuff. Looks like a person has ordered it and will post a review coming up sometime soon.
