Default Ambiguious question?

When will PS3 be able to decode the full DTSMA codec and not just 1.5 MBPS.

what will DTSMA mean for audiophiles how will it compare to PCM? I'm just using the built in speakers on my HDTV so I just get stereo will anything actually improve the sound for me?

PCM = DTS-MA for quality, it just uses more bandwidth. Built in speakers will not show you the difference - at the very least you'll want a mid-ranged receiver and a 5.1 or better surround speaker setup to appreciate lossless.

I have a 5.1 Speaker system, but it uses stand plugs (like 3 headphone jacks) is there a converter I can get to convert the optical output to the 3 headphone jack 5.1 system? (creative speakers BTW)

There are DTS decoders that you can buy from Creative that can do that. Except it already costs over US$100 and you still can't decode DTS HDMA with it, just the DTS core.

Save up. Buy an Onkyo 605 or something similar (that can decode DTS HDMA or have HDMI multichannel audio input) and better surround speakers. Then you can really appreciate to hear what you've been missing.

When you stop asking about it.

Seriously though, the common wisdom indicates that they'll add it after some standalone units get it. Doing so before the standalones would be an unfriendly gesture to other Blu-ray manufacturers, especially in an area the PS3 does not particularly "need" right this moment.
