Default Question about Blu-ray drives for computers (really simple question)

So I finally watched my first blu-ray movie ever (Serenity) and it was sweet. So my question is this, I have a blu-ray burner that I put in my computer and it works fine no problems but I was wondering if it is the software or the drive that determines if I can play all the extra goodies that are in blu-ray 2.0 I haven't tried anything yet but was looking at the box and can not see anything on the drive that says what version it is but the software (Cyberlink) says that it does 2.0 stuff.

Just wondering and thanks in advance.

It's the software that has to be able to deal with features like 2.0.
