Default South Park Season 12!!!

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/South...-Blu-ray/3434/

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Sou...eason-12/11029

The Blu-ray will have 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, and come on a 3-disc set.

It's likely it will be pillarboxed, preserving the aspect ratio.

SOUTH PARK IN HD!

As much as I love southpark, I'm not sure it's one of those things that needs to be in HD. The animation isn't that great to begin with. However, if I was going to buy season 12, I would rather buy it on BD over DVD so I guess it's a good thing

I have an Episode on my XBOX (XBOX Live Exclusive HD 720p Episode). The DVD's (and i own season on DVD) look like a pile of **** compared to this. This episode was made in 1080p in 16x9 format. It's really widescreen. They just Re-Rendered them with a 16x9 plane since it's all computer generated. I'am hoping they'll do the same for the 14 Ep of S12

I agree.
Also, you can see all seasons and episodes at www.southparkstudios.com
If you have you PC connected to your HDTV, then you're set.

If "Good Times With Weapons" is any indication, you will be pleasantly surprised with how great South Park looks in High Definition.

Yeah but... you can do that with everything. Even to it's a legal site... the quality is Ok to watch on a Ipod or Portable Computer but not a on 100' Inch screen..

Looks fine on a 60" at 8 feet away.
Yes, there is banding and macorblocking here and there but SP is all about the funny and not great PQ.
I mean, look at the quality of the cartoon drawings for SP.

SOUTH PARK IN HD!
Quote from that site:

"Video format is confirmed to be in Full Screen for both DVD and Blu-ray, although the video resolution on the Blu version will be 1080p high definition."

That's ambiguous to me, as I certainly wouldn't call 4:3 "full screen" on a BD player attached to an HDTV. It's not clear if they're saying it will be 4:3 in both formats or if it will be 4:3 for the DVD and 16:9 for the BD. The word "although" leads me to believe it's the former.

Ideally, they'd re-render the show to 16:9. Even if it's just background on the sides for the most part, that's still better than pillar-boxed. This isn't exactly an artistic masterpiece where everything was framed with great purpose, so rendering the backgrounds wider would be an improvement.

And, please, please, PLEASE will somebody help Comedy Central fix their black levels. I haven't bought the last few seasons of South Park, but their on-air black levels are screwed up, all the South Park sets I've bought have messed-up black levels, and the few other shows they've put out on DVD that I've seen have bad black levels. Maybe they've fixed it in the last year or two, but it just astounded me that they couldn't get this right for so long. I'm not someone who generally notices such things, but when you never see anything blacker than a darkish gray color, it's pretty obvious something's wrong.
